Who is Dervla Trainor?

Aside from working as a freelance voice actor for over 10 years, negotiating her own rates with clients directly, Dervla also has years of experience in other positions requiring sales and negotiating, including working as a commercial real estate agent and through booking tours and shows for artists in the music industry. 

Alongside this experience, she also:

  • founded and co-owned V.O. North, Canada’s largest voiceover conference for 5 years
  • runs the VO Kickstart Program, a complete guide to fully and completely launching your voiceover business
  • hosts the Voiceover Speaker Series, a bi-annual free, 4-day online event with industry experts lending insight and advice to help voice actors in their careers
  • And freelance produces and production manages for TV and commercials, which gives her unique insights and perspectives from the producing side
